We are absolutely delighted to announce that the UKTMN Trial Manager of the Year 2021 has been awarded to Anna Griffiths, Clinical Trial Manager, at the MRC Clinical Trials Unit at UCL,
Anna was nominated by Clare Shakeshaft, and has been awarded the Trial Manager of the Year award because of her hard work and dedication whilst managing a paediatric HIV study in low and middle-income countries, supporting the development and mentorship of more junior staff, and being involved in the grant submission and set up of a complex COVID-19 phase 1 trial involving multiple stakeholders and collaborators. Our congratulations to Anna, who is well-deserving of this award.
The UKTMN Executive Group would also like to give a commendation to Stefan Rennick-Egglestone (University of Nottingham) and Lucksy Kottam (South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust) for outstanding contributions to their role within trial management. The nomination received for both Stefan and Lucksy scored very highly, making it very difficult
to choose just one winner. This special commendation is well-deserved.
We are busy working on promoting this fantastic news to the trial community and hope that recognition of the excellence of trial managements professionals and the key role they play in the UK’s ability to conduct high quality clinical trials continues.
