On Monday 22 September 2025 we welcome 20 delegates to Manchester for the welcome evening for the UKTMN ASPIRE leadership programme.

Cohort 2 spent the evening getting to know each other with welcome drinks and an evening meal. We were privileged to be joined by Alice Mortlock, Deputy Director of Research Capacity and Growth Development from Department of Health and Social Care  (DHSC), who gave an inspiring opening speech and an opportunity to talk openly about the challenges faced by trial management professionals in the UK, and how the DHSC plan to overcome them.

Day 1 of the session, on Tuesday 23 September 2025, saw Nick Robinson (Executive Leadership Coach) introduce the programme and allow the cohort to get to know each other more. Some skills which will be used throughout the programme were introduced, and the cohort worked in small groups throughout the afternoon.

A huge thank you to Nick, Alice and the cohort for a great opening session!
