NIHR data has revealed that UK geographies with the highest burden of disease also have the lowest number of patients taking part in research. NHS England worked with Black African and Black Caribbean people living with diabetes and dementia, South Asian people living with diabetes, young people who have experienced homelessness, military veterans, digitally-excluded groups and people of Roma heritage to create a good practice guide for engaging with underrepresented groups.
