The UKTMN Guide to Efficient Trial Management was developed to help provide pragmatic advice to those involved in the management of non-commercial academic initiated trials. This Guide describes the process of managing clinical trials and gives an overview of the trial management framework, both legal and operational, providing hints, tips and references to external resources.
It has been written primarily for those new to trial management, who will find the Guide an essential reference tool. In addition, more experienced and senior trial managers may also benefit from the Guide as an aide memoire as well as using it as an induction tool for less experienced staff.
The Editorial Board welcome suggestions and constructive criticism of the Guide to ensure constant improvement in subsequent editions of the Guide. Comments will be incorporated in next editions or as appendices if appropriate.
