A three-day course to introduce delegates to adult learning styles and interactive training methods to ensure learner participation and more effective transfer of learning into the workplace.

Please note that the dates of this 3 day course are the following :- 27th April, 4th May and 1st June 2020.

Target Audience: This course is suitable for people who will be, or who are currently, involved in the development and delivery of training in clinical trials. Candidates should have a training topic in mind.

Learning Outcomes: At the end of the course participants should be able to:

·Explain the implications of learning styles when developing training

·Recognise the elements to include in the design of an effective training module

·Write appropriate learning objectives

·Explain ways of making lecture-based training more active and interesting

·Choose appropriate training activities to support learning objectives

·Develop a variety of training materials to support learning

·Explain the need for training evaluation

·Deliver an interactive learning session

Course lead: Helen Meadows - Helen has worked in cancer trials for over 20 years, involving a wide variety of tumours, therapies, phases and outcome measures. She teaches on a variety of trial related topics, has a certificate in Adult Learning and Professional Development from UCL and is chair of the NCRI CTU Training Sub Group.

Cost & Registration: The course fee is £180 (includes refreshments & lunches)

Spaces are allocated on a first come first served basis, up to a maximum of 12 people.
